Jacinta Gallant
Jacinta Gallant is the principal of Waterstone Law Group and founder of Innovation for Lawyers, Inc.
Jacinta is a highly effective communicator who understands people and relationships. She has the ability to quickly grasp the meaning of complex information, delve into what matters to people, and find creative solutions.
As a mediator, lawyer and Conscious Contracts Practitioner , Jacinta brings a refreshingly practical, authentic and non-judgmental approach to people and conflict. She is recognized around the globe as an educator and innovator in the legal profession.
Jacinta’s formal education came from the University of Prince Edward Island (Bachelor of Arts), Dalhousie University and University of Victoria Law Schools (Juris Doctor).
She has two young adult children and lives with her husband and 2 dogs, Coach and Clay, in Hampton, Prince Edward Island. With a strong yoga practice, a deeply rooted family, and a love of nature, Jacinta is a grounded, adventurous and generous professional. While she travels around the world to teach professionals about conflict resolution, she appreciates all she has learned from the people in her community and is proud to create PEI’s first out-of-court law firm!
Taylor Smiley
Taylor Smiley is an Associate Lawyer and Mediator at Waterstone Law Group. She graduated with her Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University and is excited to be practicing in her home province of Prince Edward Island.
During her time at Dalhousie, Taylor completed a semester at the Dalhousie Legal Aid Service and volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and Pro Bono Students Dalhousie. Before beginning at Waterstone Law, she worked at the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission, dealing with residential tenancies disputes. These experiences sparked her passion for understanding and helping people in conflict situations.
Taylor completed her undergraduate degree at UPEI, majoring in Psychology. She brings a deep understanding of people and relationships to her approach to the law. She is an empathetic listener, and a quick-minded and skilled advocate for her clients. She is organized, efficient, creative, and practical, but also down-to-earth and non-judgmental.
Taylor lives in Charlottetown, with her husband, Spencer, and their 100-pound German Shepherd dog named Wiz. When she is not working, she enjoys all things active – spin, running, yoga, barre, HIIT, you name it! - and spending time with her family and friends. She also owns and operates SPINCO Charlottetown alongside her brother, Sam.
Deb Huggett
Deb has extensive experience as a legal assistant and law office administrator. A warm and effective “people person”, Deb says working at Waterstone Law Group is her favourite job, and interacting with clients, Jacinta and Taylor are the highlight of her day at the office. When it comes to client file management, Deb pays sharp attention to detail to ensure that each case is managed with care and timeliness. Deb is the best person to contact when you want to get started working with us.
Deb’s sincere and calming manner is very much appreciated by our clients and her creativity, organizational abilities and sense of humour keep things running smoothly at WDR. A strong team player who finds and fills the gaps when needed, Deb has earned her credentials "All Things Office" (ATO).
Deb moved to Brackley, Prince Edward Island in 2009 from Toronto, Ontario and is dedicated to spending time with her family, volunteering in her community, interior design and enjoying the outdoor beauty of the Island with her furry friends, Smokey "the cat”, Dakota, Beaumont and Fletcher (“the doggies”).
